Teams from India, Indonesia and Philippines won the coveted Intel- DST Asia Pacific Challenge for 2012 for their innovative projects.
The Indian team led by Debraj Shome and Pooja Rachya won the first prize for its project on MediAngels, which is an online hospital. The teams from Indonesia and Philippines shared the second prize. Muhammad Endri Infanie and Rizky Ario Nugroho of Indonesia won the second prize for their project ISARA, a sign language learning application. The Philippines team led by Danielie Marie Chan Lo and Jam Lewis Pacana Penas won it for Robolex, a robotic leg exoskeleton rehabilitation device.
Intel- DST Asia Pacific Challenge 2012 is an initiative in the area of technology innovation to recognize outstanding ideas by technology startups that addresses social issues across 12 Asia-Pacific countries. It also brought together more than 25 imminent venture capitalists to judge the innovators and technology startups at the event.
