MediAngels, an emedical consultational platform is in talks with leading private equity (PE) funds for a funding of $10 million. "We are in deep talks with four of the biggest US-based PE funds," said Dr Debraj Shome, co-founder and director, MediAngels.

The company began operations in the beginning of the year and in February, HDFC PE invested Rs 2.4 crore for a 12% equity stake in the firm. MediAngels has around 350 super specialists from 22 countries on its website. The fees for medical consultation range from Rs 250 to Rs 5,000.

In the last six months, there have been 6,000 (4,500 from India) consultations on the MediAngels platform with 80% of them being detailed consultations (Rs 750 and above).
