Gangrene When a body part loses the supply of blood to it due to some serious injury or due to infection it causes Gangrene. The risks of Gangrene are higher for individuals with diabetes, suppressed immunity caused by HIV or chemotherapy, diseases of blood vessels like arteriosclerosis which cause hardening of the blood vessels and for individuals who have undergone surgery.
