Introduction
It occurs when the sex glands (gonads) produce little or no sex hormones. Gonads of men are testis while gonads in females are ovaries.
Hypogonadism is a medical term for the decreased functional activity of the gonads. Male hypogonadism is a state inwhich the body does not produce enough male testosterone. The hormone testosterone plays a key role in masculine growth and development of the males during puberty. In female hypogonadism the body does not produce enough of the female sex hormone like follicle stimulating hormone and estrogen. | |
