Introduction
Erysipelas is infection of skin caused mainly by Streptococcus bacteria. It mainly used to affect the facial skin but now the affections of the lower limbs have also increased. It is mostly a superficial skin affection which extends into the cutaneous lymphatic system.
Epidemiology
Sex: females are slightly more prone to this condition.
Age: the older age group (above 60 years) is affected commonly but small children and infants are prone to this infection. | |
