Introduction
Empyema is collection of pus in the Pleural space (space between the lung and the inner surface of the chest wall). Empyema in the pleural cavity is also referred as empyema thoracis or empyema of the chest.
Epidemology:
Age: empyema is common during childhood and in elderly age groups.
