Signs And Symptoms
Newborns with Cooley's anemia are usually normal at birth, and develop severe anemia during the first 1-2 years of life. Other clinical features include:
- Shortness of breath, weakness, fatigue
- Abnormal facial bones.
- Bones become thin and brittle.
- Growth failure
- Enlarged spleen.
