Signs And Symptoms
Newborns with Cooley's anemia are usually normal at birth, and develop severe anemia during the first 1-2 years of life. Other clinical features include:

  • Shortness of breath, weakness, fatigue
  • Abnormal facial bones.
  • Bones become thin and brittle.
  • Growth failure
  • Enlarged spleen.
