Symptoms and signs

The symptoms are recognized as soon as varicella virus attacks your bloodstream. The symptoms include:
  • Fever: The fever is known to last for a period of   2 to 3 days. This is the first symptom in adults.  Fever can last for more than 4 days. Such fever exceeds one hundred and two degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Blistery rash: In children this is the first symptom.  Blisters are also called vesicles which are membranous sacs containing clear fluid. If you are unvaccinated, the blisters will be on the genitals, mouth and eyelids. You will also have about two hundred to five hundred blisters.  In case you are vaccinated you should expect about fifty blisters and this is medically referred to as breakthrough case.
  • Body itching: Body itching indicate that the body is fighting with the foreign virus in your blood stream.
  • Dark spots: Such spots occur after 3 to 4 days when blisters have burst and itching has subsided.
