Symptoms and signs

Sharp chest pain, sometimes stabbing, which worsens on breathing

Radiating pain to the shoulder, back etc

Bluish discoloration of the skin (cyanosis)

Cough which may be a dry cough because of irritation of the diaphragm

Rapid pulse

Cardiovascular collapse and shock in case of tension Pneumothorax

Low blood pressure
-
Anxiety
-
Difficulty speaking
-
The large veins in the neck become largely visible
If the patient is left untreated for more than several minutes he/she may go in a state of shock, coma and death may remain a possibility. | |
