Symptoms and signs

Crying occurs at the same time each day, though there are exceptions to every rule as not every child is the same or will present the symptoms in the same ways.

The time that the colic is at its worst is during the evening hours.

The crying begins very suddenly and without warning.

The hands may curl into fists during these times of crying.

During the crying times, the child’s legs may draw up towards their stomach and their stomach may look swollen.

Crying lasts anywhere from a few minutes to hours

The crying may stop once the child becomes over tired.

The crying may stop once the child has had a bowl movement or passed an excessive amount of gas.
