Introduction
Traveler’s diarrhea is a common problem occurring in travelers. Travelers traveling from the temperate parts of the world experience diarrhea ranging from a few days to about two weeks. It is seen in almost 20-50% people traveling from developed countries to the developing nations. The condition shows frequency in bowel movements which are most commonly unformed in nature. Traveler’s diarrhea is caused by one of the five classes of Escherichia coli which are entero-virulent in nature. The Enterotoxigenic E.coli (ETEC) is known to cause travelers diarrhea which releases a toxin that acts on the intestinal lining. The infection is a common one and is accompanied by fever and vomiting along with diarrhea.
