Introduction
Mesothelioma is a rare but fatal type of cancer that occurs in the thin layers of cells called mesothelium lining up most of the internal organs in your body. There are three types of mesothelioma that have been recognized so far.
Pleural mesothelioma: Pleural malignant mesothelioma is the most common type of mesothelioma and it affects the pleura, a membrane that lines your lungs.
Pericardial mesothelioma: This type of mesothelioma affects the pericardial lining of the heart.
Peritoneal mesothelioma: Peritoneal mesothelioma occurs in the peritoneum membrane that lines your abdominal cavity. | |
