Pott’s fracture is a fracture just above the above the ankle joint, where the both protruding bony parts surrounding the ankles joint are broken off. The patient may complain of ankle pain due to sprain, when confronting to the doctor.
Our lower leg contains a pair of long bones known as tibia and the fibula, placed beside each other. Both have one protruding structure each at their lowest end. The structure is known as a malleolus. Pott’s fracture involves breaking both of these malleoloi, because of a stressful movement. | |
