Symptoms and signs

  • Bleeding gums, bruising with skin bleeding, nose bleedings
  • Abnormal menstrual periods among female patients
  • Malaise or tiredness and weakness
  • Joint pains or bone pains.
  • Fever
  • Weight loss with loss of appetite
  • Pain or a feeling of fullness in the chest or below the ribs
  • Red spots on the skin known as petechiae
  • Swollen lymph glands (lymphadenopathy) in the under arms in the groin or in the neck
  • Night sweats
  • Dizziness, headache or have neck stiffness
  • Rapid heart rate also known as palpitation.
  • Recurrent and severe infections
  • Dyspnoea: breathlessness
  • The patient may be irritable, with altered mental status
  • Swelling of the liver or hepatomegaly and swelling of the spleen also known as spleenomegaly
  • Testicular enlargement
  • Hypertrophy of the gums
