Signs and Symptoms of Ascites
Distension of abdomen is seen in ascities. Increase in ascitic fluid can lead to difficulty in breathing. Along with distended abdomen, signs of liver failure like blood in vomit, blood in stools, loss of hair, sleep disturbances, tremors, gynecomastia, atrophy of testes, jaundice etc. can be seen. Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis or infection of the peritoneum can result due to ascites. | |
